Workshop Helps Professionals Regain Lost Statistical Skills - “Statistics for
Technical Professionals”

(July 2002)-- Stat-Ease, Inc. shows how to extract crucial information from
data in their new Statistics for Technical Professionals workshop.
This computer-intensive class helps technical professionals regain the basic
statistical skills necessary to achieve Six Sigma objectives and other quality
improvement initiatives. Students leave the workshop with the knowledge and
confidence necessary to effectively use statistics when making important business
decisions, resulting in improved performance within any industry.
In Statistics
for Technical Professionals, students learn how to calculate and interpret
basic descriptive statistics, confidence intervals, tolerance intervals, and
process capability indices. They will understand how to test equality between
two variances and two means, as well as how to calculate sample size. Students
are also given a brief introduction to one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA).

is aimed at engineers and other technical professionals who would like to brush
up on their statistical skills. Using Microsoft Excel®, statistical theory is interwoven with practical,
real-life case studies, helping students rediscover long-lost statistical skills

on the concepts presented in class.
